The Assistive Technology Team works with families to find digital solutions to everyday problems for people living with a range of issues as a result of disability and old age.
The team work with a range of equipment including telecare, telehealth and home assistant devices to help people stay safe, connected and independent at home for longer.
Devices are programmed to create alerts in a range of situations, including if someone has fallen or needs reminders to eat, drink or take medication. Families might choose to monitor the alerts themselves or be supported by Sunderland Care and Support’s Telecare Response service who offer a 24/7 service 365 days a year.
